Angie has dedicated thirty-five years to the dance industry, evolving from a competitive dancer and high school and collegiate dance team member to an esteemed instructor and choreographer. She began her dance journey at the age of six under the guidance of Duanne Cazalot and has been an integral part of Dance Unlimited's faculty for the past twenty-four years. As the owner and artistic director, Angie oversees all aspects of the studio's operations, including directing the DU Krewe Competition Team and guiding the Mini, Junior, and Senior Parade Companies. Her hands-on approach ensures that every detail, from scheduling to communications, reflects her unwavering commitment to excellence and her passion for dance.
Angie has also served as the director of DU's LaPlace and Destrehan studios and has led Dance Unlimited’s award-winning marching company. Certified by Dance Masters of America and the Louisiana Association of Dance Masters, where she has served on the Executive Board, Angie is recognized for her expertise in tap, jazz, and ballet.
Her choreography is highly sought after, having been featured in middle and high school dance teams, community theatre events, pageants, and even an NFL pre-game show. She has also had the privilege of teaching master classes across the United States. Angie’s students have achieved numerous state and national awards, including titles such as Teen Miss Dance of America and Junior Miss Dance of Louisiana, among others. Her group routines have earned accolades for Most Entertaining, Judges’ Choice, Video of the Year, and Weekend High Point.
Angie has studied under renowned dance masters like Jo Rowan and Luigi and has nurtured students who have gone on to earn scholarships, feature in commercials, and join prestigious dance teams like the New Orleans Saintsations, LSU Golden Girls, and SLU Lionettes. Some have even achieved titles such as Miss Teen USA.
For fifteen years, Angie and her sister directed the Queen of Hope Pageant, raising over $80,000 for the American Cancer Society. Her community dedication has earned her recognition as a River Parishes Volunteer Salute honoree.
With a bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, Angie is also a biology teacher at Destrehan High School, where she serves as the Science Department Chair and Sophomore Grade Level Team leader. She resides in Destrehan with her husband Travis, son Austin, and “tiny dancer” Camryn.
Angie’s goal is to continue inspiring young dancers to become the best versions of themselves, whether in the studio, on stage, or in life. She is thrilled to carry on the Dance Unlimited legacy by sharing her vast experience and knowledge with the next generation of dancers.
Born and raised in St. Charles Parish, Amanda began her dancer journey at Dance Unlimited at the age of two. From dancer to teacher, Amanda has been a part of the DU family for more than thirty years. Her passion and dedication to dance can be seen throughout her life. As a graduate of Destrehan High School, Amanda served on the Desty Darlings Dance Team for all four years, serving as captain her senior year. She was also a member of Dance Unlimited’s award winning competition team for many years, winning many solo and group overall awards.
Amanda is a member of Louisiana Association of Dance Masters and Dance Masters of America - certified by test to teach tap, jazz and ballet. She is a director and choreographer for our award winning DU Krewe competition team. She also directs our mini parade company. As our Project Director, Amanda is always having fun coming up with our themes, studio activities, and productions. She is also Ms. Angie’s right hand woman. Amanda and her husband Brandon reside in Montz with their son Ethan, and two tiny dancers Henley and Hazel. Even though she basically lives at the studio, Amanda’s full time job is at Destrehan High School in the Special Education department advocating for inclusion for special needs students.

Katie joined the Dance Unlimited family at five years old. She later joined the competition team and won numerous awards in dance and modeling. During this time she was a member and leader of the DU marching company and was able to perform in Atlanta and at Walt Disney World. She became part of the DU staff in high school and has done so for over fifteen years. Her skills from the studio also led her to performing in several school and community theatre productions. Growing up Katie held numerous festival and pageant titles where she was able to travel all over our beautiful state but now spends her time coaching, judging, and directing. For fifteen years she directed the Queen of Hope Pageant with her sister and raised over $80,000 for cancer research. After high school, Katie graduated from the Aveda Institute with a license in cosmetology. She later went back to school where she earned a degree in middle school education from Southeastern Louisiana University. Currently, she teaches science at Prairieville Middle School where she coaches the PVM Pantherettes Dance Team and also sponsors a dance club. Katie currently resides in Gonzales with her husband Brandon, their son Carter, and their little dancing diva Lilah.
Duanne Cazalot has been teaching dance since 1972 and specializes in classical ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and acro. Her passion has always been nurturing and molding younger students and helping them to develop their own love for dance. She judges competitions on both the regional and national levels. Duanne has appeared in several commercials and is in the Dance Teacher Hall of Fame. She is a member of Dance Masters of America and Louisiana Association of Dance Masters, certified by test to teach - Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern and Tumbling. She is a Past President of LADM and on the National Board of DMA where she serves as Membership Chair and Teen Room Director. She is the DMA – Zee Brown Ahearn Award Recipient. Duanne is the founder of Dance Unlimited of the River Parishes and now looks forward to transitioning into the next phase of her dance career.
Al Cazalot has taught tumbling since 1981. He enjoys sharing his expertise and knowledge of gymnastics with his students of all ages. Al works with local middle and high school cheerleading squads throughout the River Parishes and his private lessons are in great demand. Al’s greatest accomplishment is seeing the confidence on a child’s face when they achieve their goals and advance their tumbling skills. He looks forward to working with all his DU of Destrehan students.
Tracy began her dance training at Dance Unlimited at the age of three, where she led the DU Marching Group and participated in the award-winning competition team. As the Director and Choreographer of the DU Marching Group, Tracy manages all aspects of the group. She serves as one of our DU Krewe’s Competition Directors, overseeing the Pom competition team where her students have received numerous high score and "most entertaining" awards. Tracy is affiliated with LADM and DMA and is certified to teach jazz and ballet. She is also employed as a paraeducator at St. Rose Elementary, where her passion for teaching and exceptional patience extend from the classroom to the studio. A lifelong resident of St. Charles Parish, Tracy lives in St. Rose with her husband, Todd, and their two daughters, Sophia and Stella, who are third-generation dancers at Dance Unlimited.
Layla joined our Dance Unlimited family at the age of two and competed with our National Champion No Limits team for over ten years. In high school Layla continued her love for dance with the Desty Darlings, serving as lieutenant, co-captain, and captain. Following high school, she earned a scholarship to dance with the reigning D1A Collegiate National Championship dance team at Southeastern Louisiana University. Layla is a Competition Director for our competition team “DU KREWE” where her choreography has won many overall and audience choice awards. She judges and choreographs for middle and high school dance teams throughout the state where she is always in demand. She served as the assistant coach for the HMS Runnerettes for two years and is now the assistant coach for the State Champion and Nationally Ranked DHS Desty Darlings.
Chante' grew up in the Dance Unlimited studio and was a part of the competition team for more than ten years. She is a graduate of L W Higgins High School where she was a member of the Dancing Diamonds Dance Team. During her time on the team, she was chosen as an American All-Star and to perform in the 2002 Super Bowl. She then later danced in college at Southern University as one of their prestigious Look Dancers. Chante' has choreographed and coached middle and high school dance teams. She is a member of LADM and DMA certified by test to teach. She is also a supervisor for the DU Junior Parade Company. Chante and her family are residents of St Charles Parish.
Julia is a graduate of Dance Unlimited where she competed on their award winning competition teams and was a leader for their nationally known marching company. She enjoys sharing her passion for dance with her younger students while still working with the DU marching company and assisting many of the DU instructors. Julia resides in Destrehan with her husband Andrew where they are the parents of two adorable boys, Ayden and Darcy.
Alyssa danced and competed with DU for thirteen years. She was a massive tumbling fan and studied under our own Mr. Al for 15 years. As a teenager, Alyssa was previously on our staff until she auditioned for a job at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. She performed and danced in shows and parades for seven years. Alyssa then auditioned to study at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where they only accept 12 girls into the acting program each year. Alyssa was fortunate enough to be able to go to Glasgow for three years to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Acting. While studying in Scotland, she continued to train as a dancer and tumbler, as a part of her university courses and outside of RCS. RCS also provided her with the opportunities to travel the world performing. Alyssa has done shows in Beijing, London, Glasgow, New York, and Spain. Her time at RCS opened up a whole new world of dance, performing, and entertaining, providing her the opportunity to take dance and movement classes with instructors from all over the world. After graduating, Alyssa moved back to New Orleans to work in Film/TV and Theatre. Alyssa performed for three years on The Polar Express Train Ride New Orleans. Alyssa has always loved working with children and is so excited to be back “home” at DU!
